Location was perfect, right in the centre of Taksim square which means there's lots of restaurants serving alcohol around. Some areas of Istanbul are 'dryer' than others. We had a club corner room, meaning we had access to the club lounge for breakfast and happy hour, which we definitely made use of (complimentary local wine, named spirits and hors d'oeuvres which were lovely). We also had a nice breakfast in the lobby restaurant where they have more choice and an omelette station. The pool area was great with a fantastic view over the Bosphorus river and Marmara sea. No onsite pool restaurant but the staff in the pool/spa reception are happy to order you drinks and food from the lobby restaurant which is then brought to you. The Okra restaurant on the top floor was fabulous, they had some very good wines (couldn't see champagne on the menu but when we asked they had a choice), which was lovely. Just be warned that imported wine (for example French, Italian) is extremely expensive. Bottle of Mumm was £130 anywhere in the city and that's just the standard stuff! Local wines are much cheaper though. The Upperist rooftop bar was a lovely touch with a great view but beware it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, mostly young people having a fab time to ambient music. Used the spa, had a couples massage, which was a first for us and enjoyed it immensely. The ladies doing the massage are strong, its not a relaxing thing, but they seem to know what they are doing.

Incredible hotel with high standards and consistency. Its nice to see institutions that still cares about their reputation and providing a quality service consistently. Hotel was great in every aspect, 5 star hotel. Very comfy bed, pillows and high quality bed sheets. Very clean rooms. Shower was amazing, also high quality shower products provided and topped up daily. Daily top up of free nespresso coffee pods, tea and water. More than enough hangers and a good size wardrobe. Bathrobes provided in the room and we used their spa (free of charge) every day. Their massage packages are also well priced. Their spa was one of the best and tutkish bath (hamam) soo good! We were on our honeymoon and guest relations manager Fatma hanim gave us a room on 17th floor. Rooms have great Istanbul views. They also send us a fruit plate, a red wine and a chocolate which was so thoughtful. Hotel has excellent location and parking + valet service is free of charge for guests. I highly recommend this hotel to any traveler in Istanbul. We will be regulars for sure whenever we are in Istanbul.

It was wonderful Staying at Marmara Taksim as my intro to Istanbul made me fall in love w Istanbul My room on top floor offered breathtaking views of Blue Mosque, Taksim Sq n Bosphorus River. Day time view was amazing, nighttime was magical. i loved theamenities inc gym with a view of Blue Mosque n Taksim Square, outdoor pool w views, Spa and sauna. I liked that the in room facilities included everything i would need eg shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and amenities kit, hairdryer, ironing board. The location at Taksim Square was very convenient for tram, metro station and Istiklal St The check-in manageress was very professional and lovely and she accommodated my requests for room with view ( as it was my birthday) and ensured my stay went smoothly ( including storage of luggage and late checkout). I loved staying at Marmara Taksim, I didn't want to leave. in fact, I'm going back to stay there next month.

Location was top notch - only 100m walk to Taksim Metro Station. A funicular ride down to the next stop and then a simple tram ride into Sultanahmet is awesome. Also, just come out of the hotel and you're in Taksim Square, or just walk left and you're on Istiklal Cadessi. In the heart of tourism and shopping land. Breakfast - excellent. They had a very good selection of hot foods. Coffee was a little slow to come, but come it did. They had two staff members making fresh eggs anyway you like them. Also a person making fresh pancakes. There are a total of 4 elevators. A security check on entrance. The club rooms come with access to the 19th floor - on which there is a fantastic view from the hotel across the Bosphorous Strait and you can see the Great Horn of Sultanahmet quite easily. Definitely a sight to behold at night.

The location was excellent as very close to the Metro, and to Istiklal street. The room was very spacious with all the necessary amenities. What was beyond my expectation was the upgrade when I came back for a further 2 nights following my trip to Amsterdam. I was at Marmara for 5 days then travelled to Amsterdam, then back to Istanbul for a stopover. I originally booked for a corner room for the stopover as cheaper but was much surprised to be upgraded in a premium room with view on Bosphorus. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast very good. Each time I travelled to Istanbul I will stay at The Marmara and recommend same to my friends and family.
